What is my dietary approach and philosophy?

My approach to diet is flexible, practical, and rooted in balance. I don’t promote any one-size-fits-all eating plan. In general, I find that a broad, whole-food diet—one that includes a diverse mix of plant and animal foods—tends to work well for most people.

That said, I don’t recommend highly restrictive diets like vegan, carnivore, or strictly raw-food diets, as I believe these are difficult to sustain and may not support long-term health. I’m happy to work with clients following more moderate variations such as vegetarian, low-carb, or ketogenic-style diets, as long as they’re adapted to your needs and goals.

In some cases, a more restrictive or medically prescribed diet is necessary—for example, for managing diabetes, food allergies, digestive conditions, or kidney disease. Diets like ketogenic (for epilepsy or certain mental health conditions), gluten-free (for celiacs), low-FODMAP, low-fiber, low-sodium, PKU, cardiac, allergy elimination, or GAPS diets should be guided by a registered dietitian or qualified medical professional. While I can’t structure or oversee these kinds of medical diets, I can support you by helping improve nutritional quality, offering herbal support, and finding ways to make the process more manageable.

How I use herbal medicine….

My approach to herbal medicine blends traditional wisdom with modern Western herbalism. I believe in keeping things simple, affordable, and accessible—favoring remedies you can make yourself, find locally, or order from trusted suppliers.

I focus on using herbs, food, and practical lifestyle shifts to support long-term, sustainable well-being. Rather than quick fixes, I encourage small, meaningful changes that can be woven naturally into your daily routine.

At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the intelligence of the human body and the evolutionarily ingrained wisdom of the natural world. Our bodies are incredibly adaptive and capable of healing when given the right support, nourishment, and time. Herbal medicine, when used thoughtfully, can help reconnect us to our innate healing potential.

Natural Wisdom….

Herbs, when used appropriately as whole-plant preparations, are powerful yet gentle allies. They nourish and support the body across multiple systems, helping to bring balance and resilience over time.

Plants have been evolving on Earth for far longer than humans, and our own evolutionary journey has been closely tied to them. For over a million years, plants have provided food, medicine, and the raw materials essential to human life. Even today, about 80% of the world’s population relies on herbal medicine as a primary form of care. Herbal medicine is not fringe—it’s ancient, global, and deeply rooted in our collective history.

Plants have developed incredible strategies for surviving viruses, bacteria, and other environmental stressors. Interestingly, some of the most potent herbal medicines are wild, hardy weeds—adaptable and exceptionally resilient.

My practice embraces medical pluralism, recognizing that people today often draw from many sources—conventional, alternative, and traditional—to support their health. I don’t view herbal medicine as an “alternative,” but as a vital, complementary part of an integrative healthcare approach. When used thoughtfully, herbs can work alongside both modern biomedical treatments and traditional healing systems to support the body’s natural intelligence and capacity to heal.

As a clinical herbalist and wellness consultant, I can help you integrate a whole-food diet and herbal medicine into your health and wellness toolkit. My focus is empowering my clients to make their own healthcare and wellness choices through an awareness of more options. The more tools and choices you have in managing your health, the better you can solve problems and enhance your well-being. Whether you want to improve your diet or incorporate herbal medicine into a current healthcare strategy, I can assist you in finding potential solutions for your wellness goals.

Clinic consultations are currently limited to Zoom on Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays.

I will email the Zoom link once your appointment is confirmed.

*I do not sell herbal products or supplements, but I can direct you to many sustainable and high-quality suppliers. Additionally, I can provide instruction for making many simple preparations yourself, especially those used long-term. For local clients, I can sometimes provide certain preparations to try for a short duration.
